Ocala, Florida— This March, Ocala will welcome eight majestic (and giant) horses and their historic red beer wagon for a special appearance at Live Oak International and the Downtown Ocala Square. Consumers can get up close and personal with the hitch team. This special appearance is made possible by Tri-Eagle Sales, the local Anheuser-Busch and beverage distributor for North and North Central Florida.
On Saturday, March 15, the Budweiser Clydesdales will make their grand appearance at Live Oak International beginning at 12:00 p.m., adding to the prestige of one of Ocala’s premier equestrian events. “We’re thrilled to have the Budweiser Clydesdales back at Live Oak International this year,” said Chloe D. Reid, Co-President of Live Oak International.” These horses are truly majestic, and seeing the Budweiser hitch in action is something that everyone should come out to see. It’s a spectacular experience like no other and a real treat for our guests.” Live Oak International is the only international combined driving and show jumping tournament in the U.S., drawing top equestrian athletes and horses from over 20 countries each year for this world-class competition.
The celebration continues Monday, March 17, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., when the eight-horse hitch will be harnessed and hitched to the legendary red beer wagon in the heart of Downtown Ocala Square. This St. Patrick’s Day event will bring the community together for an evening of tradition, excitement, and unforgettable memories. “The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are an enduring symbol of tradition, strength, and the Budweiser legacy. Bringing them to Ocala, the Horse Capital of the World, celebrates the city’s deep equestrian roots while creating an unforgettable experience for the community. From the elegance of Live Oak International to the excitement of Downtown Ocala’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration, these iconic horses unite horse lovers, beer enthusiasts, and families alike for a truly special occasion,” says Tripp Transou IV, President of Tri-Eagle Sales.
As part of an elite group of traveling hitches, the Budweiser Clydesdales remain a symbol of heritage and excellence. These magnificent horses stand 18 hands tall, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds, and are selected based on their age, size, bay coloring, distinctive white markings, and gentle temperament—ensuring they continue to captivate audiences nationwide.
