Local Businesses Come Together for Earth Day
Local FSU Student Organizes the 2nd Annual Tally’s Beach Clean-Up at St. George Island
Eastpoint, FL- Earth Day is Sunday, April 29, and Nikki Mendez, an FSU Student Activist, has organized and partnered with Anheuser-Busch distributor Tri-Eagle Sales and local businesses to promote this important day. The Tally’s Beach Clean-Up at St. George Island will be held on Sunday, April 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“Water is crucial to our communities (in addition to being a key ingredient in beer). Environmental stewardship is everyone’s responsibility. The clean-up is to make everyone aware of the importance of our water areas and recycling at our neighboring beaches. We should enjoy the best America has to offer in our local areas,” says Brittany Foster, Communications Manager for Tri-Eagle Sales.
Whether you choose to reduce water use at home or participate in the Tally’s Beach Clean-Up at St. George Island, every action can help us create a Cleaner World for all. Here’s a list of simple things you can do to help preserve our planet’s most precious resource:
- Invest in water-efficient household products, such as appliances
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, shaving, and washing your hands
- Take shorter showers
- Fix your leaky faucets and pipes
- Avoid running your dishwasher and laundry machine until they are fully loaded, or be sure to set the water level to match your needs
